First let me say that I got the black with crystals, not the silver so I'm not sure if this pertains to both shoes.
This is a gorgeous shoe. You will need to sit down to put this shoe on as it's not a one handed shoe that you can just slip your feet into, I tried and kept falling all over the place. The strings that cross over are soft leather, even though the picture shows that they seem to be stiff, they are not, so you need to use two hands to put the shoe on. On a good note though, you can adjust the crystals by sliding them a little if they feel uncomfortable. The heel is thin and high which always makes me unsteady when I stand. They are beautiful though and will dress up my plain black dress perfectly. I have not worn them out yet, I've been testing them out for an hour in our house, nothing is rubbing or poking. So far so good.
