These shoes don't cushion well at all. I bought a different walking cradles sandal, the austin, and it is much better at absorbing impact. Much more comfortable. The soles of the austin are different than the soles of the reed. I liked the idea of sliding my foot into a shoe without having to attach the back strap but it isn't worth giving up the comfort. The reed sandal is close to being as narrow as my narrow feet need. But, they're not what you'd expect from walking cradles. They're going to be returned. (I had the bronze color in 8.5N.)
