This sandal solved a gap in my shoe wardrobe--I can wear it with long jeans, and my pant bottoms don't get caught in the back, if you know what I mean. Note that the heel curves forward a few degrees. That, plus the fact that ones heel isn't flapping (as with flip flops or heavier backless sandals) is what keeps the pant edge out from under my foot and getting trapped. Excellent! My lean, long-legged look stays with every step.
The bigger two straps are velcroed, so you can get a custom fit. I do wish the toe strap were velcroed, as well, but that one is sewn closed. This sandal is lightweight, fine-looking (good leather and careful stitching). It's just the right height for my longest (34" inseam) jeans, and the sole doesn't make flapping sounds on hard flooring, which is an unexpected plus.
